The Big Data Initiative at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) today announced two new activities aimed at improving the use and management of Big Data. The first is a series of data challenges designed to spur innovation in how people use data to solve problems and make decisions. The second is a new Big Data and Privacy Working Group that will bring together leaders from industry, government and academia to address the role of technology in protecting and managing privacy. Both activities were announced as part of the White House event “Data to Knowledge to Action: Building New Partnerships,” which highlighted new high-impact collaborations in the field of Big Data.
