2020/2021 Membership Information
The EECS Alliance is a joint initiative between MIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) and some of the most innovative and impactful companies and organizations in the world.
EECS Alliance focuses on achieving four important goals:
- To connect partner companies with MIT EECS students through internships and full time job opportunities.
- To increase the visibility of partner companies among MIT’s EECS students, and to help them highlight the diverse career paths and opportunities available in electrical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence and decision making.
- To work with partner companies to build a more equitable, diverse and inclusive future.
- To revolutionize EECS education and career development by combining the expertise of partner companies, the EECS Department and the MIT ecosystem.
To accomplish these goals, the EECS Alliance is currently accepting new industry partners at three different membership levels:
Affiliate Membership - Work with our students - (Membership Fee: $7,500/year)
- Participation in the MIT 6A program that connects MIT undergraduate and graduate students with 3 and 6 months full-time internships in industry.
- Participation in the EECS Career Fair.
Core Membership - Meet the future of technology - (Membership Fee: $15,000/year)
- Everything in the Affiliate Membership.
- Two recruiting events per year.
- Assistance targeting and advertising company events and opportunities among EECS students.
- Participations in events to facilitate connecting with students: industry office hours, industry mentors, coffee-with-an-engineer, etc.
- Invitation to attend EECS seminars (e.g. PhD defenses, etc).
- Fund student research through the Super-UROP program (additional fee).
Executive Membership - Be part of the EECS ecosystem - (Membership Fee: $30,000/year)
- Everything in the Core Membership.
- Integration into the MIT EECS classroom through sponsoring and mentoring final projects and student competitions.
- Assistance to connect with students of relevant background or technical expertise.
- Participation in Executive seminars and guest lectures.
- Membership in industry advisory board.
- Up to $10,000 customization towards important EECS programs (e.g. Equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives; SuperUROP program; Junior Faculty startups)
- Sponsor company-tailor hackathon/challenge for an additional fee.
- Option to participate in other MIT research programs and consortia (contact us for more information).
Due to the COVID pandemic we are not able to host any in-person events on campus this year, but we are looking forward to working with our EECS Alliance partners to develop innovative virtual events. The 2020-21 membership period is from September 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, with a pro-rated membership fee for companies that join the Alliance during the year.
